The Look of Luxury: Explore the Beauty of The Baked Tile Company’s 1860 Collection

Open plan kitchens incorporating living and dining areas are one of the most sought-after spaces in modern family homes.

But according to interior designer and founder of The Baked Tile Company, Lesley Taylor, traditional décor within these contemporary spaces is fast becoming popular.

Lesley said: “There is no denying that large open plan kitchens offering different areas for entertaining, eating and even work are now incredibly desirable in modern homes. And while sleek fixtures and bold colours have proven popular over the last few years, traditional décor offering a timeless appeal is now in demand.”

The Baked Tile Company’s Victorian-inspired 1860 Canterbury Collection is ideal for putting a heritage spin within contemporary kitchens.  It’s rich colour, bold pattern and muted finish give a beautiful encaustic appearance but because it’s made from versatile porcelain it can be used anywhere – even as a splashback.

Lesley said: “Life is too short for a load of maintenance and the 1860 Canterbury Collection not only delivers on looks but practicality too. It requires minimal upkeep and will continue to look glorious.”

There are three tiles within the 1860 Canterbury Collection, which makes it incredibly versatile. A Décor tile creates a beautiful geometric pattern, while a Border and Corner tile complete the range.

But the real beauty is the way in which four corner tiles can be used together to create a second pattern with a different twist.

To complete the look, the plain 1860 Plum will complement the range while adding depth to the pattern while a limestone-effect flooring will cement the traditional feel.

The 1860 Collection is available now from The Baked Tile Company, with prices starting at £90 per m2.
