Media walls have become one of Britain’s most searched-for living room upgrades, as homeowners prepare their homes for cosy nights in. That’s according to the experts at specialist wall panelling brand Naturewall.
Using data from Google, Naturewall found search interest in the term ‘media wall’ began rising sharply around 2022 and has continued to grow, peaking in January 2026.
Now, with autumn and winter on the horizon, Naturewall’s interiors experts say homeowners are no longer trying to hide the television, but are instead using texture, wood tones and acoustic wall panelling to turn it into a warm, considered design feature.
Charlie Farrar, Product Marketing Manager for Naturewall, said: “Media walls have become so popular because they answer a very modern design problem. The television is often the focal point of the living room, but without the right backdrop it can feel quite stark.
“Wall panelling helps soften that effect by adding warmth and texture. It frames the TV beautifully, hides the sense of empty space around it and makes the whole wall feel intentional rather than purely practical.
“As we move into autumn and winter, people naturally spend more time in their living rooms, so they want spaces that feel cosier, calmer and more inviting. Wood-effect and acoustic panels are a simple way to achieve that, creating the feeling of a snug, cinema-style space without needing a full renovation.”
Crafted with real wood veneer, Naturewall’s SlatWall panels not only elevate the living room’s aesthetics but offer practical solutions too.
The panels’ acoustic properties help to reduce echo, making television and sound systems feel richer and more immersive – something that is especially effective in open plan homes or spaces with hard-flooring.
Naturewall carried out the research using the Google Trends platform. Searches for ‘Media Walls’ within the United Kingdom peaked in January 2026.
Naturewall’s wall panels for media walls are available now, with prices starting at £79.99.
