Beach House Art offers a nod to the past as it unveils a new art collection featuring hand-painted shells.
The coastal-inspired art studio has launched six new prints based on original artwork by Beach House Art’s Creative Director Brian MacShane, which was influenced by the Victorian specimen studies typically found in the natural history publications of the 19th century.
Featuring scallops, whelks, conches and clams, each piece showcases stunning shells in intricate detail.
And each print is brought to life against a classic natural paper texture or a deep marine blue backdrop.
Brian said: “I wanted to create a contemporary take on Victorian prints, which were often lithographic, and featuring shells as the subject seemed like a very natural choice.
“I was able to showcase the unique form and texture of each seashell to bring depth and dimension to the artwork.
“They are perfect for every interior, be it in the city or by the sea.”
The collection complements Beach House Art’s already extensive range of coastal artwork. From seaweed and sardines to crustaceans and coastlines, the studio has something for every thalassophile.
Beach House Art’s new hand-painted shell prints are available now, with prices starting at £32 for an unframed print.
