DESIGN GRADUATE Launches First Ever Wallpaper Collection with Ohpopsi
Printed textile design graduate Rosanna Dyke is to launch her first ever collection of seven wallpapers after being talent spotted and mentored by independent design house Ohpopsi.
Ohpopsi Creative Director, Zoe Eaton, discovered Rosanna after sponsoring an award at the New Designers show, in London, as part of their ongoing support for new talent.
Her debut collection: Rosanna Rose: Glasshouse will go on sale in leading wallpaper retailers across the UK, and encompasses seven designs: Flora Ditsy, Glasshouse, Tiny Tulip, Venation, Leaf Boogie, Verdure and Elements, in various colourways.
Zoe said: “It was clear from that first meeting that Rosanna embodied everything Ohpopsi look for in terms of style and colour.
“Her beautiful bold designs, her playful use of colour – it all reflects an appreciation for the importance of positivity in our daily lives, and she strives to create optimistic spaces that inspire and uplift, highlighting the connection between colour and wellbeing.
“We are really pleased to have worked with her to bring Glasshouse into the public domain.”
Rosanna, based in Glasgow, said: “It was an unbelievably exciting thing to happen. I was already a fan of Ohpopsi, meeting Zoe and having her mentor me through the process has been incredible.
“I am so excited to launch my first collection in collaboration with Ohpopsi.”
Rosanna, originally from Inverness, left school a year early to follow her dream of being a designer.
She left Millburn Academy aged 17, to take an art foundation course at the respected Ullapool art school Bridgehouse Art.
From there she went to Glasgow School of Art, graduating with a First-class Honours degree in 2022 and winning the New Designers Award for Confident Colour and Bold Design – sponsored by Ohpopsi. Rosanna and fellow students had raised funds throughout their final year to exhibit at the show.
Zoe said: “Rosanna is an extremely talented designer, and we cannot wait to showcase her work. Her designs are packed with colour, pattern and life and will sit beautifully alongside our own.
“As a team of designers, we know how hard it is to get a break in the industry and we could not be more thrilled to showcase this extraordinary debut collection of such a talented artist.”
Rosanna’s collection Glasshouse draws inspiration from the lush greenery of Glasgow’s botanical glasshouses, alongside the playful patterns and organic shapes found in flowers and leaves.
The seven-strong collection has been carefully crafted to boast a sense of vitality and harmony, to create an uplifting and life-affirming collection.
Rosanna said: “The chance to have my work represented in this collection has been an incredible opportunity so soon after graduating.
“Through this collection I have been able to explore and develop my own design style whilst also getting valuable insights into the wider world of wallpaper and interiors.
“Being part of this project has given me newfound confidence in my work, and the prospects of seeing my designs in the real world and people’s homes is both exciting and surreal.”
